$TGTX | TG Therapeutics Reports Encouraging Phase 1 Data for Azer-cel in Progressive Multiple Sclerosis TG Therapeutics ($TGTX) announced initial Phase 1 clinical results for azer-cel, an investigational CAR T-cell therapy being evaluated in patients with progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). The findings were presented at MSToronto2026 and represent the first reported clinical evaluation of an allogeneic, or donor-derived, CD19-directed CAR T-cell therapy in progressive MS. Key Highlights: Safety profile: The study included 26 patients across six dose levels. No dose-limiting toxicities or specified high-grade CAR T-related toxicities were observed in the initial analysis. Disability outcomes: At Day 90, 89% of evaluable patients (16 of 18) had stable or improved disability scores. At Day 180, 88% (7 of 8) had stable or improved scores. Clinical improvements: Five patients showed improvements in disability scores; three achieved improvements of at least two points on the EDSS disability scale at Day 90. Walking and cognitive function: At Day 90, most evaluable patients showed stable or improved walking performance, upper-limb function and cognitive processing speed. Biological activity: The treatment depleted B cells in the blood, while cerebrospinal fluid testing also showed a reduction in CD19-positive B-cell activity. Ongoing research: The study is continuing with dose escalation and longer-term follow-up to better understand the treatment's safety, durability and potential benefits. Why It Matters: Progressive multiple sclerosis can cause disability to worsen over time, even when patients receive existing high-efficacy treatments. Azer-cel is designed to target CD19-positive B cells using an off-the-shelf CAR T-cell approach. If further studies confirm the early findings, the treatment could represent a new development opportunity for TG Therapeutics in an area with significant unmet medical need. Important Risk: These are preliminary Phase 1 results from a small, open-label study with limited follow-up and no concurrent control group. The findings do not establish that azer-cel slows disease progression, and its safety and effectiveness have not yet been established. Bottom Line: The initial azer-cel results provide an encouraging clinical signal for $TGTX and expand its research opportunity in progressive MS. Investors will be watching for longer-term results and further clinical development updates to determine whether the early findings translate into meaningful, sustained benefits. #TGTX #TGTherapeutics #AzerCel #MultipleSclerosis #BiotechStocks #ClinicalTrials #HealthcareNews #StockMarketNews
