🚨 $NVDA – NVIDIA Expands Global AI Manufacturing Capacity
NVIDIA announced new agreements with six supply-chain partners to increase production capacity as demand for AI chips and data-center infrastructure continues to grow.
🔹 Substrates: Agreements with IBIDEN, Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Unimicron aim to increase substrate capacity by 2.5× over the next three years.
🔹 Advanced packaging: $AMKR (Amkor Technology) plans to increase interposer wafer capacity by more than 300% by the end of 2028.
🔹 Semiconductor testing: $KYEC will receive support through a $1.1 billion capacity-reservation advance from NVIDIA for new U.S. testing facilities.
🔹 Optical technology: $SPIL targets a 15× increase in optical-engine capacity by mid-2027, with further expansion planned.
📈 Why it matters: The expansion aims to remove supply-chain bottlenecks, support higher AI-chip production and strengthen NVIDIA’s ability to meet demand for next-generation AI systems. It could also benefit suppliers involved in chip packaging, testing and connectivity.
Stocks to watch: $NVDA, $AMKR, $KYEC, $SPIL, IBIDEN, Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Unimicron.
These are planned capacity expansions; the full benefits will depend on execution and future demand.
