$SPCX SpaceX plans to carry the first batch of upgraded V3 Starlink satellites on a Starship test flight as soon as next week. A successful Starship run is pivotal for SpaceX and investors: Starlink generated roughly 55% of the company’s revenue in Q2, and Starship is needed both to restore and expand the Starlink network and to provide commercial launch capacity. SpaceX says Starship could also enable orbital AI data centers that would address an estimated $26.5 trillion AI market.
SpaceX shares fell 1.2% today despite news that the company plans to launch upgraded V3 Starlink satellites on a Starship test flight as soon as next week. The upcoming test is significant given that Starlink accounted for roughly 55% of SpaceX's revenue in Q2 and Starship is essential for restoring and expanding the satellite network, as well as supporting commercial launch operations and potential orbital AI data centers.
