Chevron (NYSE: CVX) has signed a 20-year agreement to supply natural gas for Microsoft's Project Kilby AI data center in West Texas. The project is designed to support the growing energy demands of large-scale AI computing with a dedicated power supply independent of the public electricity grid.
The facility is expected to consume nearly 2.7 gigawatts (GW) of electricity—enough to power approximately 2 million homes. GE Vernova (GEV) will supply most of the gas turbines for the project, while Caterpillar (CAT) will provide additional turbine equipment.
